The (il)logic of an (almost) 3 year old

This morning Rudy wouldn't put on trousers. He said he wanted to wear odd socks and leg warmers. Did this child star in "FAME" in another life?
For breakfast Rudy ate one bowl of oatmeal (with pears and yoghurt in it) and insisted on another only to melt down when I told him I put raisins in it (he normally loves this). When I said we had none left he completely lost it and proceeded to scream that we did until I showed him every can, jar, bottle and bag in the cupboard. He stopped his howling when I showed him a can of tuna fish. "I want tuna fish with my oatmeal". "This will be pretty gross Rudy" was my reply, "but go for it". So he ate oatmeal and tuna fish in odd socks and leg warmers. His book choice was pretty ironic too.

fun stuff

Rudy's been doing some really fun and interesting new things recently. Here's the "Noah's ark and tower arch" that we built the other day. He also likes to build a Dr's office for his dinosaurs from his lego and it has to be very very tall. The other dinosaurs come to see the Dr when they have eaten "too many cookies and rotten apples".

When ever we come inside Rudy takes off his shoes and ONE sock!

He's also been very proud of learning to use scissors.

open the tunnel

Rudy says "Margot looks like snow" whenever she eats yoghurt.

Also....
Check out Rudy and Margot's new cousin
Martha Jane Avery Jones ! We are very excited to welcome her to the family. I think Margot and Martha could be quite a team and we can't wait for them to meet! We are looking forward to another cousin arriving soon too as Mary Katherine and Ryan get ready to welcome their little girl.
