first bath

We were delighted to find out that Margot enjoyed bath time. I love how her little feet are gripping on to my arm!

The wheels on the bus...

pizza, park & passing out

Our dear friends Ann and Jane came over and made pizza for dinner. Lots of kids, lots of noise and lots of great food.

Margot tuckered out after her first Dr's visit. She weighed in at 7 lbs 4 oz.

All in the Family

During the early days of life with Margot, I'm reminded of something I certainly experienced with Rudy: The complete loss of one's sense of time when caring for a newborn. We couldn't believe, when "B" mentioned it this morning, that Margot is only three days old. It seems as if she's a long time (one week?) member of the family by now!

That being said, her presence is definitely taking some getting used to for Rudy, who is, nonetheless, an excellent big brother.

And I cannot thank my mom enough for her help. Here she is "relaxing" and taking a little time for herself ;)

Finally, the girl of the hour. If she's not feeding, she's sleeping. And if she's doing neither, she is attempting to feed on anything that comes near her mouth.

Margot Comes Home

We were relieved to be discharged from the hospital just after lunch on Friday (May 22nd) and arrived home on a beautiful May afternoon...

...Margot was "officially" welcomed to the neighborhood by our wonderful mail carrier, Vivian...

...She later got to watch Rudy and "B" at work on one of their projects--filling a planter with flowers...

...Margot then settled in for a good sleep in her new cradle.

More Time with Margot

Welcome Margot Ollie Vae Harper!

On May 21st at 2:30 a.m., we finally met our daughter, Margot Ollie Vae. She is a sweetheart!

Seven hours after her birth, I brought Rudy and "B" up to the hospital for an introduction. "B" was immediately smitten, while Rudy was, well, a bit more apprehensive.

Margot and Jo managed to get some sleep after an incredibly eventful day.
