My philosophy is there's more for a child to learn mixing paint colors, or digging in the mud than during the TV show he or she has to watch while you obtain your spotless bathroom floor. I've been thinking a lot about my priorities in this matter recently as our house seems to be more and more of a whirlwind of activities, projects, meals etc...etc...I know it's hard for John to come home to it all after a day of chaos at work. I would find it hard too. I do find it hard in fact, but I guess I can more easily step over it all, literally and figuratively.

Messy
As most of you know I'm not one to shy away from mess. I'm not, in fact, a very tidy person to begin with. That said, I tend to allow Rudy and Margot to get a little messy too. Here's Rudy enjoying playing with his trucks in a pile of flour at 7am, and soon afterward M enjoying some painting. I think she ate more than she got on the paper.

Happy Easter back...
To see the video that Becca, Triona and Zach sent us first click here
(I love the noise that Rudy makes in this video as he tries to keep up with mimicking what we are saying. oohhhaaahaaa).

Rudy on an Easter egg hunt in the pouring rain. His teeth were chattering as John and he walked home. It got warmer later in the day and we managed to get a sweet pic of the sibs.

Our Margot
Here's a quick update on our lovely Margot who is now almost 11 months old if you can believe it. In the past few weeks Margot has decided not only to crawl, but to wave and clap too. By far her funniest trick, however, is a deep, deep growl she makes in her throat that many people have mistaken for her passing gas!!!
One of my favorite things she does right now when she crawls is to pick up and sling with great gusto behind her anything she encounters in her way. So of course Rudy and I like to dump out her toy box and watch her hurl her way through it as she desperately tries to reach Rudy's trains on the floor.
Rudy thinks this is both hilarious and deeply disturbing. He'll laugh with glee while she's 5 feet away from his trains, but as she gets closer and closer he starts yelling "Get her, Get her"!
Make-shift babysitter: cardboard box in front of the mirror. She played for ages like this, giggling at her reflection every few minutes. Notice how many teeth this girl has--6 and two more on the way!
