Yesterday (Monday, 11/17) we received a very large box in the mail from Big Poppy. We opened it to find our very own "Washers" set, assembled with care in Laurel, Miss. by Big Poppy himself. Despite an absolutely frigid temp--not to mention snow flurries--we couldn't wait to break it in out in our front yard.
Here's video of Rudy with the inaugural throw, which was--we're proud to report--a "ringer."

Haircut
Colorado
We recently spent the weekend in Colorado with the Donalds and Nana. Rudy loved running around in the tall grasses on the Donald's property, exploring new parks and playing with the toys (bikes, diggers and wheelbarrows!)at Polly's school. It was wonderful to see Nana. She looks incredibly well, but remembers nothing of conversations a couple of minutes ago, her life, or ours. It was very sad to say goodbye knowing that it would probably be the last time she recognizes us. She was very enamored with Rudy and spent time 'dancing' and 'chatting' with him. I told her repeatedly that he was named after Gramps and each time she was equally pleased and touched.

Sock Monster
I was folding laundry recently and had a huge pile of unmatched socks next to me on the sofa, when a sock monster snuck up and stole the pile out from under my nose. He took them off to his horse and proceeded to growl and roar with happiness over his loot.
